Holding you close
Settles my day
Doubts seem to fade
Fears go away
Loving you is so fine
It holds back the time
We spend apart
And strengthens my heart.
\If you'll never go away
And promise to stay
I'll keep loving you
That's a promise that's true
\I'll keep loving you
That's a promise--me to you

No help is coming
Cold fear suddenly radiates from the pit of my stomach
Cold crackling static emanates from the box in my hand
No Reply! No Reply
Cold static, hissing static
I am alone.
Suddenly I am running, running, great leaping bounds
Running from what? From whom? I don't know
I am alone.
I hide, crouching in a darkened alcove
Shaking, eyes darting swiftly back and forth
Total silence except for the rattling sound of my teeth
Breath heavy and pounding heart everything else silent
I am alone
But I don't want to be alone
I will not be alone!
A grim smile twists my mouth as I reach into my pocket
My lips cradle the cold round hard cylinder
I pull the trigger, Blackness engulfs me
I am alone.

I met a man who had no home.
Homeless!
Scared?
You bet he was scared.
So scared his teeth would rattle as he shook,
When he would think about it.
And,
He thought about it all of the time.
I mean, how could he not think about it?
All of the time.
Where will I sleep tonight? Will I be safe?
Will a policeman wake me and tell me to move on?
As I stumble sleepily away carrying everything I own.
All that is left of my life, all that is my life in little bags
That I carry with me everywhere.
And, where will I sleep tonight?
I stir uneasily in my toasty bed.
I'm glad I tucked the hundred dollar bill
Into his hand as we parted.
Maybe he slept in a motel tonight.
I hope I'm never homeless.
I'm scared.
OH DARLIN
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
Oh darlin you're the only one for me
It's been so long since I saw you
All alone standing there
The wind in your auburn curls
The sun in your hair
How I wish I had made you mine
Oh so many years ago
All those years have been wasted
Cause now today I know
Oh darlin youre the only one for me.
A LOVERS CONQUEST
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
I DON'T KNOW IF I LIKE IT OR NOT. THE WAY YOU LOOK AT ME.
IT GIVES ME A FEELIN DEEP INSIDE, WHERE NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE.
EVEN WHEN I LOOK AWAY, I CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD.
YOU'VE STARTED A FEVER INSIDE ME, COME SLEEP IN MY BED!
YOU SAY YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW IF YOU'D LIKE THAT OR NOT.
BUT WHAT THE HECK I'M SURE NOT DEAD AND IT MIGHT JUST HIT THE SPOT.
ANOTHER CONQUEST MADE AND MY BLOOD STARTS TO POUND.
I CAN SEE IT IN YOUR EYES BABY AND I WON'T LET YOU DOWN.
I MIGHT BE JUST YOUR PLAYTOY, I AM THE BEST IN TOWN
I MIGHT BE YOUR PLAYTHING, I AM THE BEST AROUND
I MIGHT BE EVERYBODY'S PLAYTHING, CAUSE, I AM THE BEST AROUND.
AS I PLEASE
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
I CAN FEEL A CLOUD OF DOUBT AROUND ME
EVERYONE SAYS LIFE HAS PASSED ME BY
AS I GET OLDER I ONLY GET BETTER

OH YOU CAN'T STOP ME DON'T YOU SEE
EVERYONE'S GOT THE RIGHT TO BE FREE
YOU'VE GOT ME NOW BUT SOMEDAY YOU'LL BE GONE
THEN I'LL DO JUST AS I PLEASE
THAT'S NO GOOD FOR YOU IS WHAT THEY TELL ME
WE'LL LOCK YOU UP YOU WAIT AND SEE
I WON'T HURT NO ONE IF YOU'LL JUST LET ME BE
AND I'LL PLAY ROCK AND ROLL UNTIL I DIE
OH YOU CAN'T STOP ME DON'T YOU SEE
EVERYBODY'S GOT THE RIGHT TO BE FREE
YOU'VE STOPPED ME NOW BUT SOMEDAY YOU'LL BE GONE
AND THEN I'LL DO JUST AS I PLEASE
GONNA DO JUST AS I PLEASE
I SAID YEAH JUST AS I PLEASE
If The Time Is Right
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
If the time is right
I'll make you tonight
If the time is right
Follow me closely
To another shore
Follow me closely
I'll take you where you've never ever been before
If the time is right
Stay with me awhile
You're leaving me
Was never ever a part of my plan
I love you so
But all you say is you have to go
Loving's part of living
And living's made for two
Stay with me awhile
Please, stay with me a while
LOVING YOU
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
I've been loving you
Oh, for so very long now
I say I've been loving you
For so very long
An when my hair turns all gray
I'll still be loving you
Yeah, hear me now
That's what I say
Oh, summertime come now
But the skies don't look as good as you
And the birds singing outside my window
Add a love song to my heart
Now I've found you
An when my hair turns all gray
I'll still be loving you this way
PRISONER OF POVERTY
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
A prisoner of poverty
A common working man
Trying hard to live his life
The best way that he can
Trapped by circumstances
Out of his control
Trying hard to stay ahead
Instead of in the hole
Using up his strength and will
And wearing on his soul
I am just a prisoner of poverty
But I know thats not the way it has to be
I can rise above
Through the music that I love
Cause when I play the music sets my spirit free
Prisoners of poverty
Will someday disappear
Into a relm of golden light
All people equal there
But for now I'm just a prisoner
And I'm just like you
When we stand together
We will make it through
Cause we are all just prisoners of poverty
But we know thats not the way it has to be
We can rise above
Through the music that we love
Cause when we play the music sets your spirits free.
The Rain Must Fall
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
I see you
You see me
Baby, why can't the two of us agree on something
I loved you
when we first met
You loved me
But it can't be
Don't you see
Sometimes a little rain must fall
One look in your eyes tells it all
I scream at you
And you at me
Can't you see
That's what makes my love flee
You tell me things
To put me down
It's so easy for you
To kick me around
You do things
Just to make me cry
An you won't even tell me why
Sometimes a little rain must fall
One look in her eyes tells it all
RUNNING FREE
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
I was only thirteen She was thirty three
She taught my wandering spirit to be wild and free
When I was fifteen I knew what she had done
Turned around never looked back started to run
Sixteen and running never was alone
I found it here another there and I continued to run
Out west in Arizona I found I could be free
I walked on fire but could not vow the oath of celibacy
Memphis Tennessee became a home for me
I had it there fried in my chair tied in her balcony
life is long she was so strong her perfect coup de gras
I ripped free of my bonds destroyed her song turned again and ran
See look around you green grass and daffodils
I heard the grass is greener on the other side of the hill
SAMMY'S DEAD
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
So, you tell me, he's dead.
Shot in the head.
Who, is to blame?
Why our protectors, you say.
After all he wasn't right in the head you know.
He was always dirty and smelled bad.
Always riding that bicycle, or walking like a menace up and down the street,
scowling with never a smile for anyone.
Going through trash, carrying off, God only knows what, and besides,
he shot at them.
And, somehow I don't understand,
I Knew Sammy,
he never scowled at me.
Always said Hello.
Always had something to do.
I never knew that he had hurt anyone, the doctors examined him several times
"He'll not hurt anyone," they said, "he can care for himself, leave him alone."
But he made you feel uneasy,
He didn't fit into your nice, clean, sterile, correct world.
So you excuse the outcome, secretly glad the problem is fixed.
But I know.
Sammy didn't shoot at anyone.
I know, because no one else is, dead!
He felt threatened.
He fired a warning shot.
I've hunted with Sammy.
He was a good shot.
I've seen him shoot a squirrel,
Running through the trees,
He would always shoot them in the head, so as not to ruin the meat.
And they were all just standing around,
I'm told,
when he shot.
They all knew Sammy too,
none of them were hurt, and they knew that,
But someone took the chance.
After all,
he is a little crazy,
could be bonkers this time.
Sammy's dead.
Shot in the head.
And no one is to blame in our nice, clean, sterile, correct world
WHERE IS MY LADY
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
Oh where, where is my lady?
Where is my lady fair?
When I was a young lad
I met a lady fair.
She broke my heart and left me
Alone waiting there
Oh where, where is my lady?
The one I'm waiting for
Oh where, where is my lady?
Where is my lady fair?
Alone again I wandered
And then I spied her there
My heart was tried and shattered
Alone again and blue.
I'm older now and wiser
My lady lives with me.
I waited till I found her
Now life is heavenly
No more now do I say
Oh where, where is my lady?
You wait, She'll come to you
Everyone can find their lady
Cause she's waiting just for you.
ALONE (THE SONG)
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
Walking along the road I met a lady a lady fair
She asked me be my lover
But my heart kept telling me to beware
Then with her guile she lured me
To her quarters and through the night there
We knew the joys the ecstasy that lovers feel
And then
She left me
All alone
Lying there
Alone
But I don't want to be alone
Don't you leave me alone
I don't want to be alone
Don't you leave me alone
Alone
Ba Ba Ba Baby don't you leave me alone
I dont want to be alone
Be alone
Walking along the road again I met a lady a lady fair
She asked me be my lover
Again my heart told me to beware
But with her guile she lured me
To her quarters and through the night there
We knew the joys the ecstasy that lovers feel
And then
She left me
All alone
Lying there
Alone
I FEEL FINE
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
Oh, I Feel Fine Yeah, I Feel Fine
Oh, I Feel Fine Cause, She's all Mine
Last night I went for a ride, With, my little girl. We parked in our favorite spot and she whispered in my ear.
She said, she's all mine Oh, I feel fine
My girl said she's all mine, I feel fine
Later on when we stopped by to drink a coke. We got up to dance and for a while she held me oh so close.
Oh, she's so fine, She's all mine
Oh Yeah I feel fine, cause, she's all mine.
Dancin close with my little girl really gives me a thrill. I'll dance with her for the rest of my life and, hear her say
She, she's all mine, that girl is fine, I said she's all mine that's why, I feel fine, That girl is fine, That girl is mine,Hey I feel fine...
I NEED YOU
I need you
Come and rescue me
I need you
Set my spirit free
I need you
All through the night
Making me feel right
Baby I need you
I need you
I need you
I need you
Yeah I need you
I need you
Never let me go
I need you
Every day will show
I need you
All through the day
Making me feel all right
Baby I need you
I need you
I need you
I need you
Yeah I need you
I need you
Fill my life with joy
I need you
Every day and night
Making me feel all right
Baby I need you
I need you
I need you
I need you

MY DRUNK CHIKIN SONG
By: ©TERRY L. CAMERON, SR.
Hey come quick Momma see what Pappa has done
He and Uncle Jack were just out back and havin fun
They let loose the rooster and they chased it around
Now Momma you won't believe what's gone down
Uncle Jack and Poppa had a drink or two
They thought that one for the rooster might be cool
But that bird was quick and he chugged it all
Then he jumped straight up into the air with a horrible squawl
He came straight down His feet in Uncle Jacks hair
There were wings an feathers an screams flying round in the air everywhere
Uncle Jacky jumped up he knocked Pappa down
When I came runnin Mamma they were all three rollin round on the ground
Mamma she come quick She brought Pappa's gun
She said she'd always heard drunk chikins were no fun
She pulled up that gun and she took aim
That day now lives in history as our family shame
The moral of this story's just gotta be told
Even though stories with morals have really gotten old
When I do my drinkin I go downtown
She'll never catch me where chikins and whisky can be found.
